Three mid-twentieth century composers, two of whom have had little of their music performed or recorded in the last 50 years. Offered here are two
piano concertos by Isidor Achron, never before recorded, performed by Barry Goldsmith, a work by Lazar Saminsky, titled, "The Vow," intended for
piano and orchestra, but never completed, then discovered by Barry Goldsmith in a two piano version with sketching including orchestral orchestration.
Here it has been completely orchestrated for piano and orchestra and offered as a newly discovered work.
The third composer is Ernest Bloch.
His composition, "Helvetia, A Land of Mountains and its Peoples," is one of his least known works and has rarely been heard outside of Switzerland.
It is the last major work by this Swiss-American composer to be recorded.
